Heavy Duty Mechanic
Location: In-person, British Columbia
Pay: From $40/hour
Hours: Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts | No weekends
We’re looking for a rockstar Heavy Duty Technician to join an elite municipal equipment service team. If you thrive on diagnosing complex electrical issues, rebuilding power systems, and keeping heavy-duty machines running like clockwork—this role is for you.
You’ll be servicing street sweepers, vacuum trucks, hydro-excavators, and other essential municipal machinery. The work is hands-on, performance-focused, and mission-critical to the smooth operation of public infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Rocking:
- Diagnosing and repairing municipal equipment, with a strong focus on electrical systems
- Troubleshooting and rebuilding engines, fuel systems, exhaust, cooling, and more
- Performing in-shop and field repairs with efficiency and precision
- Ordering required parts and documenting repairs
- Following technical manuals and manufacturer guidelines
- Staying sharp with ongoing product training and system updates
- Maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized tools, vehicles, and work areas
What You Bring to the Table:
- Licensed Heavy Duty Technician or Commercial Transportation Ticket (preferred)
- 10+ years’ experience in heavy-duty equipment repairs
- Expert-level electrical troubleshooting, including multiplex systems
- Deep knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic systems
- Certifications like CVIP and forklift are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
- Physically able to lift 75 lbs and work full days on your feet
- Basic computer skills and strong communication in English
