Shop Foreman
A leader in the public transportation industry is seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to join their team in the Peel area.
Job Description:
As the Shop Foreman, you will oversee the daily operations of our bus repair shop, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is performed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will lead a team of technicians, manage workflow, and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the repair shop staff.
- Schedule and assign work to technicians based on priority and skill level.
- Open work orders when needed and send repair quotes to customers.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
- Train and mentor technicians and apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients/customers regarding repair status and any additional work required.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues.
Qualifications:
- 310T Journeyman certification
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in the transit or truck repair industry.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must have your own set of tools.
Compensation:
- $100k – $120k/yr. (Varies based on experience, certification, and qualifications)

Shift:
Days 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.
All successful mechanics will be subject to a pre-employment check which includes an MVR check, and criminal record check.
