Transmission Technician

We have an IMMEDIATE opening for an experienced Transmission Technician in our Saint Paul,MN shop. This Transmission Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive transmissions. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic tests to identify transmission issues and determine the root cause of problems.
• Inspect and assess transmission components, including gears, clutches, torque converters, and electronic systems, to identify faulty parts and worn-out components.
• Complete transmission repairs and replacements, including disassembling, rebuilding, and reassembling transmissions using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Adjust, repair, or replace hydraulic systems, seals, gaskets, and other related components as needed.
• Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance on transmissions to prevent potential issues and prolong their lifespan.
• Use specialized diagnostic equipment, computer systems, and software to aid in the diagnosis and repair process.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services performed, and parts used for each vehicle.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Transmission Technician or in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing and repairing transmission systems.
• Strong knowledge of transmission components, including manual and automatic transmissions, clutches, torque converters, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and computer systems to identify transmission problems accurately.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
