Job Description:

 

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician specializing in CAT 797 Haul Truck and/or Hydraulic Shovel Maintenance & Repair. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper performance of various heavy construction and mining equipment, including dozers, haul trucks, excavators, and more. Your primary tasks will include inspecting equipment for defects and malfunctions, diagnosing faults using computerized and other testing equipment, repairing and replacing defective parts, and testing the repaired equipment to ensure it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

-  Specialize in CAT 797 Haul Truck and/or Hydraulic Shovel Maintenance & Repair.

-  Perform routine checks on dozers, haul trucks, excavators, and other heavy construction and mining equipment to ensure optimal performance.

-  Thoroughly inspect equipment to identify any defects or malfunctions.

-  Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to diagnose faults and determine the extent of repairs needed.

-  Conduct repairs and replace defective parts, components, and systems as required.

-  Test the repaired equipment to ensure it operates properly and meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

-  Possess a valid Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician (HET).

-  A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with open pit mine mobile equipment.

-  Extensive experience with Hitachi, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Deere, and Volvo equipment is required.

-  All HET applicants are expected to have their own hand tools up to ¾ inch.

-  Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

-  Completion of an aptitude test.

-  Must be able to pass drug tests.

Compensation

$44 - $48 per hour

Overtime paid each shift after 8 hours.

 

Shifts

7 days on 7 days off

12 hour shifts

Camrose and Red Deer dayshift only .Spruce Grove rotating days & nights

Time and half paid after 8 hours and on weekends .  Shift starts on Wednesday and is complete by the next Tuesday
