Shop Manager

We have an IMMEDIATE opening for an Experienced Shop Equipment Manager in our repair facility in Oakville, ON. This position is time sensitive and requires someone with previous Supervisory/Management experience and knowledge or experience on construction equipment repairs.

Shift:

• Days, 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Should be flexible to work the occasional weekend when necessary.

• Should be flexible to work between 40 – 50 hours weekly.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare scheduling and manage all mechanics and shop personnel.
• Purchase parts and maintain shop inventory.
• Create work orders and ensure that all repairs are performed in a timely manner to minimize equipment down time.
• Utilize fleet management software program to manage & maintain all equipment.
• Train and mentor all newly hired mechanics and shop staff.
• Communicate with other department/staff or managers regarding equipment repairs/down-time.

Requirements

• Must have a valid G class Driver's License with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Proven ability to effectively manage a dedicated team of technicians repairing off road heavy construction equipment. 
• Attention to details, strong communication and time management skills.
• Able to maintain and build rapport with customers.
• 421A certification preferred but not required.
