Sprinkler Fitters, Installers and Fire Protection Technicians Are Essential

Fire protection has become increasingly more important for both new construction as well as retro fits. As the technology gets better the demand only goes higher. Studies conducted from 2015 – 2019 found that of the 51,000 building fires responded to in the USA only 10% had sprinklers installed. Where sprinklers were present death rates were reduced by 89% and injury rate was reduced by 27%.

A career as a Fire Protection Technician or Sprinkler Installer can be incredibly rewarding. You leave with the knowledge that you are helping keep people safe while also performing a challenging job that is a nice mixture of working with your hands and your head.

This is also a job with great stability and growth potential. The Fire Protection industry is expected to grow by 5% over the next several years and there is expected to be a 14% shortage of technicians.

Collect As Many Certifications and Licenses As Possible

A Certification or License is only a piece of paper but it signifies so much more. It indicates to employers that you take the trade seriously and that you know what you are doing.

Every single training program that you take will make you more valuable. The more valuable you are the higher your base wage will be and the more opportunities that will be available for promotion.

Attitude Is As Important as Training

The trade is difficult, it takes time to learn, no one is going to be an expert over night. Be patient and come in every day with an attitude to learn.
