We are seeking a talented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Crawfordsville, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment, with opportunities for career growth into a Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Manager.

Pay: Starting at $30 – $45/ per hour

Shift/Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off schedule. Day and night shift positions available.

Responsibilities: As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your key duties will include:

  • Adhering to all safety regulations, policies, and maintaining proper records
  • Dismantling and reassembling trucks, machines, and equipment to access and diagnose issues
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area to allow safe movement and equipment access
  • Inspecting machines visually and audibly to identify malfunctions
  • Reading schematics and utilizing diagnostic software to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Performing welding, cutting, and fabrication on equipment and components
  • Meeting and exceeding customer service expectations



Skills & Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Expertise in off-road heavy equipment and its systems
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
  • Experience with Tier IV Emissions systems
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb, or crawl under or on top of equipment
  • Skill in manipulating components in hard-to-reach areas using hands and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A willingness to take on additional duties as needed
