Resident Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Resident Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for tending to heavy construction machinery and support equipment. As a resident mechanic you will be providing on-site service & support for customers in Southeast Georgia. Maintaining all systems and components with access to OEM diagnostics, schematics, blueprints, specialty tooling, and continued training.
Compensation:
- $32.00 – $40.00/hour to start with flexibility for higher starting rate based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to service calls and travel to customer locations – Camden, Charlton, Brantley, Glynn and Ware counties.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and maintain service records.
- Work closely with the service team, dispatchers, and parts department to ensure efficient and timely repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing repairs and maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service and support, fostering strong relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience maintaining earth moving equipment, road building equipment, and/or aerial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic software.
- Valid drivers license with driving record in good standing required.
