Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We have a shop position for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Bowling Green, Virginia. This role is with a well established company and is responsible for maintaining Military heavy equipment. Excellent opportunity for mechanics/technicians seeking a long term career within a stable sector.
Compensation:
- $27.92/hour to start
- Plus H&W Cash in Lieu benefit of $4.57 per hour
- 11 paid holidays
Duties:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and rebuild a variety of military heavy equipment and vehicles
- Operate/inspect equipment to diagnose issues
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hosts and hand tools
- Use of micrometers and gauges
- Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmission
- Welds broken parts and structural members
Qualifications:
- Two years of hands-on experience working on heavy duty military vehicles or heavy equipment
- Graduated from any Vehicle, Equipment, or Power Generation Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) e.g., 91 Series Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or other DOD equivalent training.
- Or possession of certificate from a Vocational Technical School for vehicle or equipment mechanic
- Ability to acquire CDL
