A busy transportation and heavy equipment operation in Exeter is looking for a Dispatcher / Heavy Haul Coordinator to keep trucks moving, drivers informed, and jobs on track. This is not an emergency services dispatch role — they want somebody who understands logistics, scheduling, trucking, equipment, and how to think on the fly when plans change.
You’ll be coordinating drivers, handling customer calls, tracking loads, solving problems in real time, and making sure paperwork and billing details are squared away before the day ends.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Dispatching trucks and drivers throughout the day based on changing schedules and customer needs
- Coordinating heavy haul, transport, towing, and equipment moves
- Communicating with drivers, customers, contractors, and supervisors
- Handling incoming calls and getting the right information to the right people quickly
- Entering dispatch details, load info, and billing information into TowBook and other systems
- Tracking jobs, schedules, permits, and paperwork
- Helping solve route, scheduling, equipment, or customer issues as they come up
- Assisting with oversized/overweight permits when needed
- Reviewing completed paperwork for accuracy
- Working closely with operations and transportation supervisors to keep things moving smoothly
What We Are Looking For
- Previous logistics or transportation dispatch experience
- Strong computer skills and comfort learning dispatch software
- Ability to multitask without falling behind
- Somebody who stays calm under pressure and can make decisions quickly
- Good communication skills with drivers and customers
- Experience with trucking, construction equipment, towing, flatbed, heavy haul, or transportation operations is a big plus
- Knowledge of GPS systems, Samsara, TowBook, or similar dispatch software helps
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations is a plus
Schedule
- Full-time Monday-Friday
- On-site in Exeter, NH
- Weekend/on-call rotation availability required
Pay & Benefits
- $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience
