Shop supervisor / 310T Coach Mechanic
Location: Markham, ON
Salary: $45 – $55 per hour
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional shift work on weekends, or on call
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and qualified 310T Coach Mechanic to step into a dual role of Shop Supervisor and hands-on technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing preventative maintenance, managing daily operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our team. Approximately 70% of the role will involve hands-on mechanical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Management:
- Plan and assign tasks to the team to ensure efficiency.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Technical Work:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on buses and other vehicles.
- Ensure all work meets safety and industry standards.
- Respond to on-call situations as required.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and guide a team of five technicians.
- Provide training and mentorship to develop team skills.
Qualifications
- Valid 310T Certification with a strong background in coach mechanics.
- Proven leadership or shop management experience.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Availability for occasional weekend shift work.
