Diesel Mechanic

As a skilled mechanic, you’ll be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing machines, ensuring their functionality and reliability. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent manual dexterity, and is committed to safety in every task.

Pay:
$38 to $50 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to specifications.
- Inspect and troubleshoot machines, engines, and transmissions, conducting diagnostic tests to identify issues.
- Keep detailed logs of maintenance and repairs or utilize the maintenance system to track and report issues.
- Perform repairs aimed at optimizing machine reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems efficiently.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery, systems, and equipment.
- Clean and lubricate machinery components to ensure proper functioning.
- Replenish fluids and replace worn-out components in engines and machinery.
- Advise on proper maintenance practices and preventative measures for machines and vehicles.
- Take on additional duties as needed, such as repairing hydraulic systems or painting vehicles.
- Perform service calls and roadside repairs, as required.
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus.
Requirements & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and their components.
- Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers).
- Ability to follow procedures and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and instructions.
- Must provide basic hand tools for daily use.
- Strong adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical strength and stamina for handling equipment and machinery.
- Good attitude and reliable attendance.
- High school diploma preferred; vocational school certification or completed apprenticeship is a plus.
- ASE certification preferred but not required.
