Diesel Mechanic
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lead Mechanic to join our team, reporting directly to our Port Engineer – a retired USCG Master Electrician and Marine Engineer with 30 years of experience. The Lead Mechanic will collaborate with a team of qualified diesel mechanics to oversee the maintenance of a fleet of six passenger vessels. The role includes performing routine preventative maintenance and servicing all vessel systems to ensure optimal functionality.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: A 2-year vocational/technical degree in Diesel Technology or a related field, OR 4+ years of experience in mechanical and electronic diesel engine service and repair within an industrial or marine environment.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine engineering.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team of engineers in completing projects and tasks while adhering to industry best practices.
- Technical Skills: A strong technical background in vessel and facility maintenance is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $73,992.00 – $98,560.00 per year
