Diesel Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems across a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including farm machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong automotive diagnostic skills and hands-on experience working with both hand and power tools. As a Diesel Mechanic, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Utilize automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to accurately diagnose mechanical issues.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems as necessary.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines and equipment for thorough inspection and repair.
- Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and forklifts during repair work.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure they meet safety regulations.
- Keep detailed records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in diesel engine maintenance techniques.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting required for repairs.
- Experience with farm machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in assembly tasks.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
