Sign-On Bonus: $4,000

Hours: 3rd Shift – 6:00 PM – 4:00 AM (10-12 hour shifts)

Pay: $29.00-$35.00 per hour DOE + $3 Shift Differential

Tool Allowance: $2,000 annually ($500 per quarter)

Boot Allowance: $200 (or as needed)

Preferred Experience: 2+ years of experience with Heavy Truck Repair (Air Brakes, Suspension, Diesel Motors, Electrical Systems)

Requirements:

  • Must have your own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Role Summary: As a Heavy Truck Repair Mechanic, you will perform preventive maintenance and diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles and equipment. You will be tasked with keeping operations running smoothly by addressing repairs and ensuring vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under limited supervision to follow established procedures and written instructions to complete tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on trucks and equipment.
  • Use vehicle computer systems to diagnose and troubleshoot failures.
  • Estimate time and materials for repairs and requisition new parts.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct safety checks.
  • Complete paperwork and log repairs using fleet maintenance software.
  • Assist senior mechanics with larger projects and repairs.
  • Perform safety and quality checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area that complies with safety standards.
  • Follow safety procedures for all work tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: No specific formal education required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in heavy truck repair.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and handling equipment, often in challenging work conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Required to use motor coordination and finger dexterity for machine operation and keyboarding.
  • Exposed to physical risks, such as cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic chemicals.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and extreme weather conditions.

Location: Primarily in a repair/maintenance shop setting.
