Diesel Mechanic

Type: Full Time

Compensation: C$20 - C$30 / hour

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States

Essential Job Functions:

Promote safety in every task and action.
Prepare repair orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Work independently and safely within the shop and when making road calls.
Complete necessary records promptly, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.
Stay up-to-date with and adhere to all DOT regulations, as well as federal, state, local, and company standards regarding:
Personal safety during maintenance operations on tractors and trailers
Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment
Proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or CSC Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Willingness to obtain ASE Brake certification within the first 180 days of employment.
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented work ethic.
Must meet qualifications outlined in Section 396.19 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for vehicle inspections.
Must meet qualifications in Section 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for brake maintenance and repairs.
Ability to safely operate a tractor/trailer unit within the terminal.
Technical expertise to handle components such as air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, springs, and other heavy parts (over 100 lbs).
Ability to inspect, repair, or replace domes, valves, vents, or other equipment in compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and adherence to schedules.
Basic mechanical skills.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, and federal, state, local, and company standards.
Familiarity with basic company employment policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors.
Frequent reaching above shoulder level, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, and using finger dexterity.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Must be capable of performing repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual tasks.

Working Conditions:

Typical shop environment with concrete floors.
Work may involve uneven and/or slippery surfaces.

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
