Trailer Machanic

Type: Full Time

Compensation: C$20 - C$35 / hour

Location: El Paso, Texas, United States

We are seeking a motivated 2nd Shift Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team! This is an excellent opportunity for growth and to play a key role in ensuring the success of our fleet and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform basic repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on trailers.
Repair or replace body parts such as floors, rails, landing gear, and bogies.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
Maintain a high level of productivity, working within or close to set timeframes.
Drive trucks in and out of the shop to stage trailers.
Collaborate with other mechanics and offer suggestions for complex repairs.
Clean and maintain the work area daily.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods supporting full body weight.
Walk up to 1,000 feet and frequently change positions.
Move shoulders through a full range of motion in all planes.
Reach heights over 72” frequently and crouch to 18” regularly.
Reach and stretch across the midline with full cervical and bilateral range of motion.
Use hand tools for extended periods of time.
Stooping to a minimum of 30” and kneeling to 18”.
Constantly enter/exit trucks (51” and 24” steps) while supporting full body weight.
Occasionally push 250 lbs, pull 125 lbs, and frequently push/pull 100/50 lbs.

Experience:

Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
