Diesel Mechanic

Type: Full Time
Compensation: C$25 - C$35 / hour
Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicles to assess the extent of damage or malfunctions
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brake systems
  • Review work orders and collaborate with supervisors to discuss tasks
  • Use checklists to ensure all key parts are inspected, along with other potentially problematic areas
  • Plan work procedures utilizing charts, technical manuals, and hands-on experience
  • Communicate effectively with drivers to diagnose vehicle issues
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services
  • Repair both manual and automatic transmissions
  • Replace and adjust headlights as needed
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, and OSHA regulations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop and surrounding areas

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • CDL license preferred
  • Clean driving record with proven work history
  • Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Diagnostic experience is a plus
